Privacy Policy
Mahj Scout ("we," "us") tracks prices and availability across independent mahjong retailers and lets visitors watch a product for price or restock alerts. This page describes, plainly, what information we collect and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Watch alerts: if you choose to watch a product, we store the email address you provide, which product you're watching, and whether you want price and/or availability alerts.
- Basic usage data: we log page views, merchant-link clicks, and alert-email opens/clicks, tied to an anonymous session identifier stored in a cookie — not to your name or identity, unless that session is also linked to a watch you created.
- We do not collect payment information. Mahj Scout never processes purchases; every "Shop" link sends you to the retailer's own site to buy.
How we use it
- Watch emails are sent only after we've recorded a confirmed price or availability change for a product you asked to watch — never on a schedule, and never for marketing.
- Usage data helps us understand which products and merchants are worth tracking. We don't sell it.
Who we share it with
We use third-party service providers to run the site, and your information passes through them as part of that:
- Resend — delivers our watch-confirmation and alert emails.
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, our database, and our email-sending pipeline.
We do not sell your email address or usage data to third parties, and we do not share your watch list with the merchants whose products you're watching.
How long we keep it
When you unwatch a product, we stop sending you alerts about it immediately. For integrity and support purposes, we keep a record that a watch previously existed rather than erasing it outright — if you'd like your data removed entirely, contact us (see below) and we'll handle it directly.
Your choices
- You can stop any watch at any time from the product page, or from the link in any alert email.
- You can ask us to delete your data entirely by contacting us.
Children
Mahj Scout is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
