How Mahj Scout Works

Data disclaimer — please read before relying on anything you see here

Prices and availability shown on Mahj Scout are observations, not live data, and may be stale. Always confirm current price and availability directly with the merchant before you buy.

Monitoring is temporarily paused. Mahj Scout is not currently collecting new price or availability observations. Every product's existing history is preserved exactly as last recorded, Watch and Unwatch still work normally, but no new price-change or restock alert will be sent until monitoring resumes. We'll update this notice when it does.

We're independent

Mahj Scout is an independent site. We are not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by any of the merchants whose products we track, except where we participate in their affiliate or referral programs (see our Affiliate Disclosure). We chose which merchants and products to track ourselves.

How we record data

Mahj Scout records price and availability observations from sources available to it, and preserves those observations over time as a timestamped history — never guessed, never backfilled. If a check fails, that failure is recorded honestly rather than silently skipped or papered over with an old value.

What we won't do

We won't show you a "90-day low" or similar historical claim we haven't actually observed ourselves.
We won't guess a product's price, color, or availability when our source is ambiguous — we'd rather show nothing than show something wrong.
We won't invent urgency ("only 2 left!") we haven't verified.

Watch alerts

If you ask to watch a product, we email you only after we've recorded a confirmed price or availability change — never on a fixed schedule, never as a guess about what "probably" changed. While monitoring is paused (see above), no new alerts will be sent for any watch.

When our data might be wrong or out of date

What you see here reflects our most recent recorded observation, not the current moment — it can be stale even under normal operation, and more so while monitoring is paused. A product could be sold out, restocked, or repriced right now regardless of what's shown here. This is exactly why we always link you to the retailer's own page, and why you should confirm current price and availability there before you buy — think of Mahj Scout as a helpful starting point, never the final word.
